Mark Melamed, founder of the Gabriel Project, is a 6th grade teacher from NJ who began the Gabriel Project as a means of assisting children with heart defects in the African Country of Tanzania. The goal is to bring the child to the states and help them get needed life saving surgeries. The Deborah Hospital in NJ provides the actual medical care, but TGP brings the child and a parent to the states and helps with all the needed arrangements. In the 15 years that Mark's students have been working on this project they have raised more than $300,000. Yes, these are 6th graders. They have helped 12 children so far and have the 13th waiting in the wings. A 2 year old girl who's name means "Baby Rain." She will be coming to the US very soon to receive the medical treatment that she needs to save her life. Mark’s dedication to the project and the children is overwhelming. He has often donated portions of his own salary to the project.

 

Greg Vaughan and other daytime stars such as Jackie Zeman and Kamar de los Reyes,  are actively involved in the project and do events to help generate awareness and funds. Both Greg and Mark are very appreciative for the fan support with the project.

 

Several websites joined forces to help raise funds over the past year. Our goal was $1000 but we passed it and donated a check in the amount of $1250 to the Gabriel Project in Greg's honor.  On behalf of Greg and Greg's Angels, thank you to EVERYONE who contributed in anyway to our project. You guys are AMAZING!!!
